This project is one of my earliest in web development, and it holds a special place in my journey. I built it to solve a real problem in my everyday life: being the go-to person for budgeting and grocery planning in my household.The idea was simple: take the chaos of handwritten lists and calculator typing, and turn it into something helpful. This app lets users input a budget and build a grocery list. Once the list is finished, it checks if the user is under, over, or right on budget, displaying a message indicating budget status. One can easily edit or delete items, or reset the list at any point.Before this, I was juggling a calculator, scraps of paper, and a pencil, going back and manually crossing out/erasing and modifying items as needed. Now it’s all streamlined and in one place. It's a small app, but it made a big difference for me and was a great learning experience when it came to JavaScript. A future goal is to add a "Save as .txt" feature so the list can be exported and reused.It’s my first week on Peerlist, and I’ve been eyeing Launchpad since I joined, so I’m really excited to finally share this project with you all. I hope it resonates with someone out there the way it has with me. Would love to hear what you think!
