About this Opportunity

What You'll Do

As a UX Designer at Avalara, you will help shape the user experience across our product suite. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to create intuitive, user-friendly designs that for our users. You should understand user-centered design principles, experience solving user challenges, high-quality designs. You will be reporting to Sr Manager - UX Design.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process from concept to delivery, including research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.

  • Collaborate with teams to define solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to iterate and refine designs based on user feedback and our requirements.

  • Create design documentation, including user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

  • Mentor junior designers, sharing best practices and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and tools into the design process.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a portfolio showcasing your design process and final deliverables.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.

  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.

  • Experience with user-centered design principles and best practices.

  • A Bachelor's or Masters degree in Design (preferably from IDC, NID) Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
