Android Engineer, Systems

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be working on the Peloton System Engineering team, supporting our Android operating system, services and applications that enable the Peloton fitness experience on our custom hardware products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout our organization to deliver high-quality software solutions for both internal and external customers.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of development in Android, with both applications and the framework (AOSP). As a key member of our engineering team, you will work on developing, optimizing, and maintaining various components of our Android platform and may be involved in driver development, service implementation, and application maintenance.

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

• 2+ years Android development experience

• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Java, and Kotlin

• Proficiency with Git, Gerrit & JIRA

• Familiarity with Android services and the AOSP framework

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues

• Knowledge of modern development processes and tools that increase productivity and quality

• Ability to resolve problems and accomplish complex engineering tasks independently

• Background working with small cross-functional teams to develop, review, test, and deliver software solutions in a timely manner

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent years of work experience

BONUS

• Proficiency with other programming languages such as Python or Rust

• Experience with the Linux kernel and/or driver development

• Hands-on work profiling UI, memory, and threading to identify performance issues in Android

• Familiarity with USB, Serial Ports, and other wired communication protocols

• Knowledge of the Android Jetpack libraries

• Understanding of architecture patterns, namely MVI and MVVM

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Base Salary Range

$115,772—$150,504 USD
