Advisor to the CEO, co-creator of Expert in Residence (EiR) program

Dean-appointed position. Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EiRs) have founded, sold, or IPO’d successful ventures in tech, consumer products, healthcare, biotech, media and entertainment, and more. These EiRs meet with students 1:1, help facilitate Rock Center programs, coach teams, lead workshops, co-teach cases and work with faculty on research and course development.

Collaborating with Professor Matt Bloom at Notre Dame and the Templeton Foundation to research sabbaticals. The goal of the research is: to understand when and why sabbaticals lead to positive outcomes for the individuals who are able to take them.

The research will dig deeper as to what is actually going on, and how/if extended time off should play a more integral role in the average career. There are lots of reasons people can go on sabbatical - it can be voluntary, involuntary, health-related, joy-related, career-development focused - what's important is that they left a job, and did something very different with their lives for an extended period of time. There are also very real impediments to taking extended time off. The most common barriers people experience are career optics, perceived/actual cost, and family commitments (partner/children).
