The UX/UI Hub project was a transformative initiative aimed at empowering aspiring UX/UI designers to overcome career challenges and achieve success. As the design lead, I collaborated with talented designers, Gabriella Davis and Peggy Yang, to drive the project's success and deliver a high-quality product. To elevate user engagement and address the goal of increasing app downloads and ratings, Gabriella and Peggy embarked on a rigorous research process. They conducted a competitive analysis of prominent networking and event platforms to glean insights and inspire innovative solutions. Through in-depth user interviews with current UX bootcamp students, recent graduates, and junior designers, we gained valuable perspectives on their career journeys and pain points. This research guided the design process, helping us understand the audience's needs, expectations, and aspirations. The UX/UI Hub emerged as a dynamic solution that revolutionized the career paths of UX/UI design students. There were the introduction of features such as job boards, and networking, while also enhancing event listings to cater to junior designers' career advancement needs. Collaboration was crucial to align the design choices with the app's objective of connecting users to external resources and amplifying their career prospects. The completion of the project resulted in a mid-fidelity prototype for the UX/UI Hub within the four-week timeframe and stood as a testament to our dedication to empowering UX/UI design students for successful and fulfilling careers. Using no-code tools like Figma, Bravo Studio, and Airtable, we estimate that the completion of the redesigned app – with events, networking, job boards, and resources – will take approximately 4 weeks. These tools will enable us to expedite the process while maintaining a high level of excellence and meticulous attention to detail that was consistent throughout the project.
