ASAP/Journal is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that explores new developments in post-1960s visual, media, literary, and performance arts. The scholarly publication of ASAP: The Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present, ASAP/Journal promotes intellectual exchange between artists and critics across the arts and humanities. Recognizing the pluri-disciplinary nature of contemporary art and criticism across the globe, the journal publishes methodologically cutting-edge, conceptually adventurous, and historically nuanced research about the arts of the present. Each issue will include an interview with a practicing artist in addition to scholarly essays, an editors' forum, and other regular features.

Knoxville has a respectable group of international cultures; however, you would never know it as there is no one single public resource dedicated to highlighting and promoting all of the cultural events that occur around town. Cultivating an increased awareness of Knoxville’s existing cultures is necessary for it to become a proud and thriving city.

This project aims to employ a social web platform to promote cultural events so that Knoxvillians will become more aware and open to the myriad cultures that exist here.
