Problem Statement:
Client were now looking for a solution that would provide analytical insights over their regulatory reporting. 

Our Proposed Solution:
RegInsights or RI is an enterprise Business Intelligence solution that offers analytical observation of trades and related information, captured and generated by a firm. It was an on-premise solution.  Sapient was already in the process of moving this analytics solution to the cloud. In fact, this turned out to be the first implementation of RI on cloud. 
Along with cloud migration, Sapient proposed re-architecting RI to move away from a traditional data warehouse solution to a Big data solution. To add to this, there were technology constraints from the client-side that were dictating the solution to be a more IAAS oriented. 

Solution Delivered:
Sapient redesigned to arrive at a hybrid model, which coalesced the benefits of both PAAS and IAAS into a single framework thereby achieving a win-win both for Sapient and the client. 

The reengineered solution is powered by a Hadoop ecosystem and uses Spark/ Hive to handle the current client volumes and their forecasted volumes for the future. As a result, the processing time has been reduced by 80%.

What We Achieved:
•Developed a modular architecture that can be extended to any other CMRS clients. The new solution provides an extensible information architecture and has a scalable infrastructure to cater to any future requirements from any other clients.

•Delivered a zero-defect product on time so the client could honor their regulatory commitments. The solution has been running in production for last many months without any reported issues.



DTCC: Reg Insights

At times, Source system sends different Versions (OR Sequence Numbers) of an Event in an arbitrary manner. The requirement is to report a latest version of an event in case multiple versions are coming together from a SS and maintain the sequencing of events before reporting.

As part of the project work for the Coursera course "An Introduction to Accessibility and Inclusive Design", I analysed a given Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint document and was able to make the document accessible to users with the in-built accessibility tools provided by Microsoft. I was able to do this keeping in mind the principles on which the WCAG guidelines are based.

The objective of Compliance Management Reporting Tool (CMRS) is to cater to the Dodd frank compliance requirements, offering a user interface driven (no coding needed) transformation that will empower the business user with the ability to generate and maintain SDR and LTR forms. CMRS will take the input trades and related messages from various transaction management systems, process, transform with desired information and send to trade repositories in required formats so that compliance is a click away.

Creation of an attrition prediction model of employees within an organization considering all the relevant external and internal factors of the organization. This project was taken up as part of the Howathon initiative celebrating the spirit of World Women's Day.

The objective of the project was to build an autonomous and a manual robot to compete in the ROBOCON competition.

ROBOCON

Compliance Management Reporting solution (CMRs) offering enterprise-wide regulatory reporting services is being used by eight clients of Publicis.Sapient to meet their regulatory reporting needs. They were all using CMRS V1.0. But then, slowly the cost of the product was trending North due to high Infrastructure cost. Platform stability was concerning due to surge in the transaction volume. Performance deterioration due to increased volumes of data storage and processing was increasing user’s dissatisfaction. 

What did we do?
As part of architectural changes to develop Kangra version of the product and with a focus on Improvement track, following activities were performed:
•       Decided to remove Biztalk and replace it with Service Fabric
•       Upgraded to SQL Server 2016
•       Database optimizations through
o   Introducing NoSQL Database
o   Reducing storage space for passive archival data and maintaining incremental backups of Passive DB's
•       Re-Design and Refactor
o   Re-design hotspot components of the architecture to make the app robust
o   Refactor to make CMRS a service-based architecture
•       Infra and Desired State Configuration (DSC) as code
o   Automated Deployment and Release
o   Automated Provisioning
o   Automated Configuration 

Some of the major tasks implemented by Improvement track that resulted in significant Azure cost reduction are:  
o	Storage optimization – reduction of premium disks usage wherever possible 
o	DR environment DB size reduction during warm mode
o	Cosmos RU’s optimization
o	Governance and audits around data and VHD backups retention period 
o	Environment start/stop schedule on UAT environments 
o	Implementation of governance for internal environments usage
o	Changing the Storage tiers from Hot tier to Cold tier for archival data 


Re-architecture of RegReport Application

The objective of the project was to construct a system on rails guided by laser which can work in inhospitable and inert environments and perform the desired functionality with a high degree of accuracy.
