I built an open-source PDF annotation that contains all the advanced features that help you save a ton of money

Hey everyone,

I just released the first open-source version of a React-based PDF annotation tool and wanted to share it with the community.

Landing page: https://react-pdf-highlighter-plus-demo.vercel.app/

Npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-pdf-highlighter-plus

Document: https://quocvietha08.github.io/react-pdf-highlighter-plus/docs/

Features included so far:

  • Text highlighting with notes

  • Freehand drawing on PDFs

  • Add signatures

  • Insert images

  • Designed to be embeddable in React apps

  • Export PDF

  • Free Hand Draw

  • Insert a shape like a rectangle, circle, or arrow

This is an early version, but the core functionality is stable and already usable for real projects. I built it because I couldn’t find a FREE solution that fit well into modern React apps without heavy customization.

I’d love feedback on:

  • API design

  • Performance

  • Missing features

  • Real-world use cases

Issues, PRs, and suggestions are very welcome.

Hope this helps someone working with PDFs in React

P/s: If you find this project interesting, please give me a star. Thank you so much
