A zero-dependency terminal typing visualizer.
KEYRAVE transforms your keystrokes into a dynamic music visualizer within your terminal. Instead of just measuring typing speed, it uses your typing rhythm as the instrument, creating a unique audio-visual experience.
- Visualize Keys as Drums: Each keystroke triggers visual elements like sound bars, ripples, or particle bursts. The visualizer detects your typing BPM live, making slow prose feel different from a rapid code sprint.
- Key Effects: Assign moods to keys. For example, 'Enter' can trigger a bass drop, 'Backspace' a purple ripple, 'Space' a wave, 'Tab' a rainbow sweep, and 'Shift' a white flash.
- Zero Dependencies: Built with pure Node.js, it requires no native modules, bundlers, or Electron. It runs on any terminal supporting ANSI escape codes.
- Export Your Session: Capture your typing sessions as ASCII art, static SVG, or animated SVG replays by pressing CTRL+E. Share your visualizer creations with others.
- Adaptive Intensity: The intensity scales to your personal typing baseline, ensuring a full rave experience for both slow and fast typers.
- Configurable: Customize colors, bar density, decay rate, and beat sensitivity using a single JSON configuration file.
Get started in seconds by installing via npm: npm install -g keyrave, then run keyrave and start typing to initiate the rave.
