Patterns is an open-source, privacy-first recovery app built around ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), the evidence-based therapy for OCD. Built with Flutter, it runs on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux, giving you a focused, distraction-free space to journal, track, and actually practice recovery, not just log it.
Most mental health tools rely on cloud storage, but Patterns is local-first. Your reflections, obsessions, and distress levels stay exactly where they belong: on your own device. No accounts, no cloud uploads, no third-party tracking, just a private space for your mind.
Guided ERP: Structured exposure and response prevention exercises to practice at your own pace.
Compulsion Delay: Put a pause between the urge and the action, and watch the urge rise and fall on its own.
OCD Tracker: Document obsessions and compulsions as they happen, rating distress (SUDS 0-10) to identify triggers.
Emergency Toolkit: Fast grounding techniques for the moments distress spikes.
Pattern Analytics: Intuitive heatmaps and charts that visualize your triggers and progress over time.
Privacy by Design: Local-only storage ensures your most personal data never leaves your device. Optional app lock via Face ID or device passcode.
Exposure hierarchy builder and exposure materials (scripts, images, loop tapes, notes, all in one place)
Urge surfing and response prevention tracking
Structured multi-day ERP programs
Uncertainty training
Action planner and behavioral experiments
Recovery metrics showing real trends over weeks, not just today
Patterns started as a personal tracker built by someone who has OCD and couldn't find a tool that went beyond logging. It's grown into a full recovery toolkit, with the source open for anyone who wants to see exactly how their data is handled.
