To put that in perspective, even the latest flagship models, have far older cut offs:

• Google's Gemini 3: ~10 months
• Anthrophic's Claude Opus 4.5: ~8 months
• Earlier OpenAI releases: 10+ months

And the first ChatGPT version launched in 2022 had an often negatively highlighted knowledge cutoff 18 months before its release.

For AI Visibility optimization this is a turning point:
A much shorter gap means faster results, which may justify investing in training data optimization rather than focusing only on live web search.

One thing I’ll be watching: Will live web search become less frequent as AI models need fewer external look-ups to provide up to date information?
