A trail is the backbone of a topic you want to understand. It captures the core of the subject as a hierarchy of connected nodes, giving you a clear path from where you are to real understanding.

GraphMind's harness visits each node along the way. It checks whether you can actually demonstrate that you understand it, and teaches you when you don't. This keeps the AI on the trail instead of letting it get lost in the woods.

And it's not just AI saying, “I think you know this.” Our algorithms continuously track your mastery of each concept, so your progress is based on what you can actually demonstrate.

The philosophy behind GraphMind

Long before we'd heard anyone put it into words, we kept hitting the same wall: you can't just tell an AI “teach me x” and expect to learn.

It wanders, loses the thread, and never checks whether anything actually landed. So we built a harness to keep it on the trail. Only later did we find Andrej Karpathy describing the very same problem, and pointing at the very same kind of answer.

Andrej Karpathy described two ideas that capture this problem particularly well:

“Keep AI on a leash.” And use LLMs as a medium for transferring knowledge between people.

GraphMind takes these ideas in a similar direction.
