Dictator is a native macOS menu-bar dictation app for fast voice input. Hold Fn to record, release to send the recording to your selected cloud speech-to-text provider, and the result is inserted back into the field you were using.

It supports Groq, Cloudflare Workers AI, xAI, Deepgram, AssemblyAI, and Gladia for transcription, plus optional AI cleanup through bring-your-own API keys. Credentials are stored in macOS Keychain. Transcript data remains in local Application Support storage, and Dictator does not store recordings after processing. Each external provider's own data-handling policy applies.

Dictator also includes a private clipboard, custom vocabulary, reusable styles and snippets, and global shortcuts for quick access.
