Designed and implemented a serverless, event-driven weather data pipeline on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enable continuous ingestion, processing, and retrieval of time-sensitive weather information. Key Highlights: Developed four AWS Lambda functions: Fetch current weather data from an external API Fetch 7-day forecast data Retrieve current weather data from DynamoDB Retrieve forecast data from DynamoDB Stored processed data in two on-demand Amazon DynamoDB tables to ensure low-latency and scalable access. Configured Amazon API Gateway with two REST endpoints: /current – Real-time current weather data /forecast – 7-day forecast data Automated ingestion using Amazon EventBridge: Current weather updates every 1 minute Forecast updates every 5 minutes Implemented secure service-to-service communication using AWS IAM roles and managed policies. Outcome: Built a cost-efficient, scalable, and fully serverless architecture capable of handling real-time analytics workloads with minimal operational overhead. Technologies Used: AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon EventBridge, AWS IAM, REST APIs
