RealWorth.io is a free historical inflation calculator and a collection of interactive money visualizations, built and maintained by one developer.
The calculator covers the USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada and Japan from 1750 to 2026, using official CPI data from the BLS, ONS, Eurostat and national statistics offices. Instead of returning one adjusted number, it shows what an amount actually bought at the time: hours of work, loaves of bread, months of rent.
Two tools on the homepage put your own salary into context. Historical Rich-O-Meter places your income on the class ladder of any year since 1860, from Struggling to Wealthy Elite, and tells you the percentile you would have landed in. Where You Are Rich maps the same salary across the world, shading every country by how far it sits above or below the local median. Global Income Rank Calculator Compare your income with the world. See your global percentile, adjusted for local purchasing power.
The site also hosts a growing set of interactive pieces. Anatomy of a $100 Bill is a WebGL model of a banknote that can be pulled apart layer by layer, viewed under UV light, cut in cross-section and folded. How Big Is a Billion Dollars is a drivable road paved with hundred-dollar notes, comparing amounts by area, weight and counting time. Global Money Flow maps worldwide remittances from World Bank data, updated monthly.
