My profile: Anouk Verbrugge's professional profile highlights her unique blend of skills as a Frontend Engineer and her artistic passions. She is dedicated to creating intuitive and visually appealing online experiences, particularly within the context of marketplaces for vintage furniture, antiques, and design objects. Her approach to frontend development emphasizes clarity, rhythm, and the preservation of an object's inherent character, ensuring that users can engage deeply with the items presented. Anouk's work at PatinaHall involves translating complex data such as photographs, measurements, and condition notes into accessible and usable interfaces across various devices, from large desks to narrow phones. Her keen eye for detail, honed through her experiences in watercolour painting and observing the subtle nuances of horse riding, allows her to maintain the integrity and story of each unique item. She believes that thoughtful design elements, like precise cropping, accurate scale cues, and comfortable typography, should guide the user's attention towards the object itself rather than distracting them with the interface. This profile also touches upon her personal interests, including watercolour painting, horse riding, and a fascination with Victorian jewellery and old letters, showcasing a holistic perspective that informs her professional work.
