I built VoxCal to explore what happens when real embedded hardware meets AI agents and automation.
VoxCal is a voice-controlled calendar assistant running on an ESP32. It uses an INMP441 microphone, FastAPI, n8n, conversational memory, and Google Calendar to understand natural voice commands and perform calendar operations.
You can say:
“Create a meeting with Ansh tomorrow.”
Then simply say:
“6 PM.”
VoxCal maintains the conversational context and completes the request.
The project currently supports creating, searching, updating, and deleting calendar events.
The main challenge was making the AI-agent pipeline efficient - particularly optimizing token usage, context, and agent calls while keeping the system reliable.
Hardware → Voice → AI Agent → Memory → Automation → Google Calendar → Voice Response
Thankyou.
