what exactly is this UI/UX stuff everyone’s talking about?
A while back, a friend asked me,“Eda, what exactly is this UI/UX stuff everyone’s talking about?”
Here’s how I explained it:
“Ever noticed how some products or apps just feel right from the very first time you use them, while others might look amazing but leave you confused about what to do next?
That’s the real difference between great UI and great UX.
UI -User Interface - is all about the look ,colors, fonts, buttons, and layout you see. It’s the outfit your app wears to make a great first impression. UI is what makes people judge the book by its cover and want to open it.
UX - User Experience - is all about the feel—the journey, the flow, and how effortlessly you get things done. It’s every tap, swipe, and scroll, guiding you from “What does this do?” to “Wow, that was easy.”
If UI is the first impression, UX is the entire experience—how smoothly things flow and how satisfied you are when you’re done. "
In short: UI grabs your attention. UX makes you stay.
When both come together, things just feel right—great UI catches your eye, and great UX keeps you coming back.
