Buzz Marketing - As a Developer

This is an Buzz Marketing Guide for developer to promote your SASS or Game.

Buzz Marketing as GeeksForGeeks calls it astroturfing. No kidding.

Astroturfing is the practice of creating a false, artificial impression of widespread, spontaneous grassroots support for a policy, product, or politician, when in reality it is a coordinated campaign funded by corporations or political groups.

But I don't want to teach marketing. But i would like you to be able to identify buzz marketing on x, or other social media. So that you can respect the game of getting views by saying partial bullshit about your product.

One of the greatest page on twitter/x that i love is congratulations to the marketing team https://x.com/congratstothe. It showcases partially paid posts by people on x which looks genuine but it's not.

Types of Buzz Marketing :

1. Taboo Marketing:

   example -

   a. that flipkart ad about onlyfans

   b. Touch The Pickle by whisper

2. Secret Marketing

   example:

   1. You wouldn't believe what i am building

   2. Dropping Tomorrow

3. Outrageous Marketing

   This is done mostly to get an reaction from the audience. The Recent example that i could find was that of Runable :

   

4. Hilarious Marketing

   This mostly done via comments, you would have seen branding retweeting each other with a wit and humor.

5. Unusual Marketing

   Capturing attention leveraging uniqueness and novelty.

   eg :

   1. Vijay Shanker Sharma sharing something written about paytm on the back of a truck.

   2. Lays india packaging with a face

      

6. Remarkable Marketing

   eg:

   1. apple ads

   2. I really liked the sarvam launch videos on x

This works quite well on x/twitter. Might not work on reddit.

Marketing on Reddit

If i have sum it up in one word, i would say - your story. Tell the world what you are creating, why you are creating something like that, Show your passion. Template or header's which work on reddit :

1. For the Past 4 Month, I have been working on this game, followed by a video of your game.

2. When I was kid I used to play the floor is lava with shadows,...

3. It's VR Jenga but your fingers get longer after every move. You in?

But at the end you always have to remember why you started it all -
