How It Works: Simply enter your character's level, Constitution modifier, and hit die (ranging from d6 to d12). The calculator will then display the total hit points.
Level 1 Calculation: For level 1 characters, HP is calculated using the maximum hit die value plus the Constitution modifier.
Later Levels: For subsequent levels, you can choose your preferred rolling method.
Class & Method: Select a character class to automatically set the appropriate hit die. You can then choose to calculate HP using the average, expected, minimum, or maximum roll for each level-up.
Feats & Traits: Easily incorporate bonuses from feats and traits by toggling options like the Tough feat (+2 HP per level), Hill Dwarf racial trait (+1 HP per level), or Draconic Sorcerer's resilience (+1 HP per sorcerer level).
Multiclassing Support: The tool features a multiclass table that allows you to split character levels across different classes. View a detailed breakdown of HP gains for each level.
Additional Tools: Also explore our 5e Point Buy Calculator for generating ability scores.
Features: Copy, print, share, or download your results. Reset the calculator with ease.
Formula & Reference: Understand the calculation with the provided formula: HP = maxHD + CON + Σ(level-ups) (gain + CON) + traits.
