I've spent the past months obsessing over one question: why do the apps meant to help you eat better end up making you feel worse about food?
Flow Daily is my answer to that.
It's an AI nutrition app that reads your meals from a photo or a plain text description. No food scale, no scrolling through a database. You snap your plate or describe your meal in a few words, and Flow Vision, the AI engine at the core of the product, breaks down every ingredient, estimates portions, identifies cooking methods, and picks up what hides in sauces and dressings.
What actually sets it apart
The market is dominated by apps like MyFitnessPal, Yazio, or Cronometer. They all share the same mental model: manual logging, calorie targets, daily scores. They were built for people who want to optimize. Flow Daily was built for everyone else.
Three decisions make it structurally different. First, the input: a photo or a sentence, never a food database. Second, the time horizon: Flow Daily builds a 7-day nutritional picture instead of delivering a verdict on every single meal. One dinner tells you almost nothing. A week reveals real patterns. Third, the philosophy: no scores, no alerts, no moral judgment on what you ate. The product tracks fiber intake, macronutrient averages, activity levels, and behavioral correlations, and presents all of it without pressure.
There is no social feed, no public profile, no leaderboard. The entire product is built around one person: you.
Business model
Flow Daily runs on a freemium model. The free plan gives access to daily AI analyses, text and photo meal input, and the weekly nutrition report. Flow+ at 3.99 € per month or 2.33 € per month on the annual (27,99 €) plan unlocks unlimited Flow Vision photo analyses with maximum AI precision, a fully ad-free interface, a complete recipe library, and a catalogue of nutrition education content. The pricing sits well below what MyFitnessPal Premium charges for a significantly worse core experience.
The organic content strategy runs in parallel through the Flow Daily Magazine, a publication covering nutrition, habits, and wellbeing that builds long-term brand authority and search visibility independently of paid acquisition.
Where we are
Flow Daily is live and available now. I built this alone while studying, from the Figma designs to the native Swift iOS app, the Firebase backend and the Cloudflare infrastructure, learning every layer from scratch. No agency, no co-founder, no shortcut.
