Spent time building, using software such as Moodle, an online training portal, to be distributed company-wide. Then populated with multiple videos and text entries for use in staff-training with internally built and common office software.

I have also spent many hours training customers, both one-on-one and in large groups on how to get the most out of their Apple devices.
I have spent time managing stock during the very busy Christmas period in the store.

As technical manager, I had to take care of the station's website, stream and other online presences. I was also in charge of co-ordinating over 180 volunteers and working with a system to get them time-slots on air. 

As a manager at DCUfm, I trained all volunteers on the legal issues around broadcasting and podcasting online, as well as how to market yourself through social media.

Technical Manager

DCU TeaSoc is a society founded in March 2012 for fans of tea. It's main aim is to educate the student population about tea culture and tea in all its forms and varieties. As founding chairperson of the society (and elected chairperson in its second year of existence), I lead a committee of 7 others, who served a membership of 120 members by the end of my second year as chair. We held many weekly events, as well as special once-off events such as trips to tea gardens, inter-society events and tea-blending workshops.

I built relationships with suppliers as well as other societies, so that DCU TeaSoc may blossom in the coming years. 

DCU TeaSoc was nominated for Best New Society in 2013 at the DCU Society Awards.

Founding Chairperson

As Deputy Station Manager of DCUfm, I was in charge of overseeing the general running of the station. With over 250 volunteers, it was DCUfm's biggest year in terms of personnel, and I oversaw the training and scheduling at the start of the year. 
Once the station launched it's schedule, I was on call from 9am until midnight each week, as the station produced the most award-winning student media content in Ireland.

As a Multimedia instructor at CTYI, I teach two classes to gifted children. One focuses on Film Production using industry standard hardware and software, and the other is a more general Multimedia course, again using industry standard software.

Every day I speak with a number of our customers and work with them to solve their marketing and technical issues. There is no average day - one minute I could be working with a single-person Startup  and the next I could be helping the entire marketing team of a company with thousands of employees. 

I've worked with HubSpot customers both in person and over the phone, as well as over email and through our new Twitter channel, for which I was project lead.

I was on the team which transitioned Leadin from a Wordpress Plugin to a fully featured web app sitting on the HubSpot stack. Leadin was a project in HubSpot Labs which brings powerful inbound marketing and analytics tools to everybody, for free. It's features have recently been rolled into HubSpot Free and Starter.

Next, I worked on our infrastructure team, building tools which allow the entire company derive deep knowledge about how our users interact with our apps.

My third lap in HubSpot Product was working on the Partner Tools team, building apps and tooling to allow our agency partners better understand their clients.

Currently I work on our Academy and Knowledge teams. I own the front end of HubSpot Learning Center, where anybody can be taught to be a better marketer, sales person or web designer. We are building an powerful and easy to use learning platform which integrates all aspects of a student's learning. Learning Center, HubSpot Academy and its sister products are used

Software Engineer

Working on the Learning Center team in HubSpot Dublin, I build the world-class HubSpot Academy platform, used by students around the world to learn about the Inbound methodology, Sales, Marketing, Web Design and running a business.

As a front-end specialist, I built the app using technologies such as React, Redux, React Router and ImmutableJS, ensuring a reasonable speed of development. I rail against complexity, and dislike abstraction for abstraction's sake.

The Learning Center platform allows our professors teach using videos, quizzes, graded examinations, as well as having hooks into the full suite HubSpot products to ensure that students can learn by doing.

After spending time working on Learning Center, I moved to the Growth organisation. In Growth, I plan, build, and experiment with user onboarding to help HubSpot users find value in our software as early as possible. Senior Software Engineer

I lead a small team of engineers within HubSpot Engineering's Growth team. Our goal is to help users decide if HubSpot is the the right solution for them, and if so, help them see success with the platform as soon as possible. We own a series of programmatic Onboarding experiences and tools used throughout the product to help new users understand the HubSpot platform. 

As a Tech Lead, it is my responsibility to ensure that the engineers on my team are performing at their highest, are enjoying the work, and are progressing in their careers. I work with a product manager and designer to plan out feature road-maps, and work with other teams to help them implement both our libraries and what we've learned through product experimentation. I also spend more than half of my time working in the codebase, ensuring that we meet our goals and provide the best possible experience to our users.
