Streak System Bug in Peerlist: Accessing 300-Day Rewards at 40 Days

I’ve been actively using Peerlist’s Launchpad and streak feature, and recently noticed something that doesn’t seem right.

What Happened

I currently have a 40-day streak, which is visible on my profile. However, despite not reaching higher milestones, I’m able to access rewards that are meant for 300-day streaks.

This includes:

  • Higher milestone rewards being unlocked early

  • Access to features that should be restricted based on streak progress

Why This Might Be a Problem

The streak system is designed to:

  • Encourage consistency

  • Reward long-term engagement

  • Maintain fairness among users

If users can access higher-tier rewards prematurely, it breaks the incentive structure and could impact trust in the system.

Possible Reasons

A few possibilities that come to mind:

  • UI displaying unlocked states incorrectly

  • Backend validation missing or out of sync

  • Caching issue showing incorrect milestone access

Why It Matters

Gamification only works when rules are consistent. If milestones can be bypassed (even unintentionally), it reduces the value of long-term participation.

Final Thoughts

Not sure if this is a known issue or something specific to my account, but it’s worth checking.

If anyone else has noticed similar behaviour, would be great to compare.
