We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join a small, growing design team supporting four core digital products.
This is a hands-on role for a designer who can independently take features from discovery through to delivery, combining strong UX thinking with excellent UI and interaction design craft.
The role reports to the Head of UX & Design and works alongside an existing UX/UI Designer.
At Class Professional, we create award-winning clinical and digital resources for paramedics, ambulance services and pre-hospital organisations worldwide. For 35 years we’ve published for this audience, and for the last 12 years we’ve built the apps they rely on, helping them make a positive impact on patient care.
Design products, features and enhancements from discovery through to delivery, creating detailed and responsive interfaces and user experiences.
Contribute to discovery and requirements gathering, helping ensure user needs are understood and documented.
Translate user and business needs into clear user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and polished interface designs.
Develop detailed, consistent and accessible designs that work well in real-world usage contexts.
Use prototyping and AI-assisted design tools thoughtfully to accelerate exploration, iteration and prototyping without compromising design judgement.
Review how designs perform after launch and use feedback and product data to inform future improvements.
Plan and contribute to user interviews, usability testing and other research activities.
Work closely with Product/Project Managers, developers and QA throughout the product development lifecycle.
Participate in product stand-ups, planning and strategic discussions as appropriate.
Work with Editorial, Marketing and Customer Service teams where product development requires cross-functional input.
Work within and contribute to the development of design systems and patterns across multiple products.
Help develop a more consistent, user-centred design process as the organisation continues its transition towards product-led working.
Around 2-3 years’ professional experience in UX/UI design or product design.
Experience taking features from discovery through to delivery.
Strong interaction and visual/UI design skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Design of accessible and inclusive digital experiences, with an understanding of how different user needs and real-world constraints affect design.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members, product managers and development teams.
Experience contributing to user research, usability testing or other methods of understanding user needs.
Excellent communication skills.
An interest in solving the challenges of designing for the healthcare sector, and a desire to make a positive impact on patient care
A portfolio demonstrating both UX thinking and high-quality UI/design craft.
Strong working knowledge of Figma or similar design tools and Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience using AI-assisted design, wireframing or prototyping tools (e.g. Visily, Figma make) to accelerate exploration and iteration, while maintaining independent design judgement.
BA Hons degree (or equivalent) in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Graphic Design or similar.
Design of complex or data-heavy products.
Ability to work across multiple products.
Using analytics or product data to inform design decisions.
Experience working within a product-led or agile environment.
