Software Engineer, AI & Automation

We’re seeking a Software Engineer who thrives in ambiguity—someone energized by solving complex customer problems, delivering practical solutions, and driving real-world impact.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Flossy, you’ll help shape our AI-powered platform and deliver high-impact products. You’ll work on projects spanning patient communication, business intelligence, workflow automation, and operational optimization—translating customer needs into innovative technology that delivers measurable results.

You’ll collaborate closely with company leadership and frontline operators, tackling hard business problems and building robust, scalable solutions. This hands-on position spans customer discovery, product strategy, user experience, engineering, and production operations. You’ll leverage AI coding agents throughout the development lifecycle and own delivery end-to-end. 

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with staff, managers, and executives to understand workflows, business needs, and operational constraints.

• Turn customer conversations into clear product requirements, actionable priorities, and testable outcomes.

• Design intuitive interfaces that simplify complex processes and make data easy to use.

• Develop across the full stack—frontend, backend, databases, and integrations—accelerating with AI development tools and rigorously reviewing their outputs.

• Build AI-powered features and automation workflows, following business rules, approvals, and audit trails.

• Troubleshoot issues with data, APIs, or production; drive solutions through testing, deployment, and post-release validation.

• Measure results: assess if features improve adoption, user experience, efficiency, and business outcomes.

• Own significant product areas independently, making tradeoffs and raising issues as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience taking a product or workflow from problem definition to successful launch.

• Strong product intuition and the ability to connect user needs, technology, and business goals.

• Hands-on engineering skills with modern web applications, APIs, databases, and cloud environments—including debugging and cross-system code review.

• Practical experience with AI coding agents—defining tasks, setting context, evaluating outputs, and ensuring correctness.

• Comfort with third-party integrations, ambiguous docs, inconsistent data, and complex business logic.

• Excellent visual and interaction design skills, with a focus on workflow clarity and usability.

• Exceptional communication skills with both technical peers and business stakeholders.

• Proactive and self-driven, balancing speed with long-term reliability.

Technologies We Use

Our stack includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, a range of third-party APIs, and AI services. Familiarity is helpful, but the key is your ability to learn new systems quickly and deliver reliable software. Backgrounds in business software, conversational AI, analytics, workflow automation, or healthcare/service operations are a plus.
