The Team: The Engineering team is responsible for building innovative features and resilient systems that bring people together. We're always experimenting with new features to engage with our members. Although we are a high-scale tech company, the member-to-engineer ratio is very high—making the level of impact each engineer gets to have at Tinder enormous.The Tinder Revenue team is a passionate group of engineers determined to provide a premium and best-in-class experience for our members! Through our mission to monetize the global Tinder experience via subscription and a la carte products, we have become one of the top-grossing apps in the world. Where you’ll work: This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration twice per week. This position is located in Los Angeles.

Develop exciting new Tinder revenue-driving features
Improve our product offering and billing platformsImprove subscriber retention while driving conversions and reducing churn
Help us scale to meet the ever-growing Tinder user base and global audience
Collaborate with various technical and functional teams across our company
Gain exposure to terabytes of data including billions of swipes a day
Own all aspects of software engineering and product development
Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
Design and conduct software tests.
Build highly reliable software solutions
Develop system engineering, software engineering, system integration, or distributed system architectures.
Communicate with team and stakeholders to understand specific system requirements.
Perform ongoing software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading software.
Monitor system operation to detect potential problems
2 - 5 years of software industry experience
Experience designing and building low latency distributed backend systems at scale
Excellent knowledge and experience with a backend language like Java, Node.JS, Go, or Python
Strong knowledge of backend architecture and when to make tradeoffs
Passion to solve unique and challenging problems
Very strong communication skills
An advocate for good code quality and best engineering practices
Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL Databases such as Postgres, DynamoDB or Redis
Ability to dive into low level details and convert product requirements into precise technical design
Critical thinking skills
Ability to solve complex problems
Experience building e-commerce solutions
Experience with building payment and fraud detection solutions
Experience building or optimizing revenue features
Experience integrating with iOS/Android app stores
An understanding of important revenue metrics
Programming experience in Javascript/Typescript and Node.js
Experience with AWS, ElasticSearch, and Kafka
BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or similar field
$130,000 - $145,000 a year
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
