Full Stack Engineer

Roadie, a UPS Company, is a logistics management and crowdsourced delivery platform. Founded in 2014, Roadie offers businesses fast, flexible and asset-light logistics solutions for last-mile delivery. Roadie enables local delivery to more than 95% of U.S. households by providing access to more than 200,000 independent drivers nationwide – allowing businesses to offer their customers delivery optionality for almost any industry, from airlines to artisans.

Dedicated to RoadieXD™, Roadie’s brand new cross-dock solution, this Full Stack Software Engineer will play a key role in developing our engineering roadmap. This role will work cross-functionally to evolve the architecture and design of the Roadie platform to meet the ever-increasing scalability and performance requirements for RoadieXD™.

What You’ll Do

• Play an integral role in the development, design and testing of RoadieXD APIs and services

• Build out RoadieXD’s internal- and external-facing tools to help scale our supply-chain operations, working primarily in React

• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders – engineering, operations and product – to develop novel solutions to scale our product.

• Write and deliver reliable code through integration, test automation, and in-depth code reviews

• Apply experience and knowledge of industry best practices to support and continuously improve the performance, efficiency, and maintainability of existing applications

Technologies We're Using Now 

• Backend languages: primarily, Go and/or Ruby on Rails. Experience in other backend languages considered.

• Frontend language: React

• Data: Postgres, Redis, Kafka, Pinot, Redshift

• Infra & Devops: AWS, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, CircleCI

What You Bring

• 2+ years of software development experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent

• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly

• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

• Experience writing clean, stable and maintainable code in high-scale production environments
