Customers (who need data crunching) generally use different tech solutions for data ingestion layer, data transformation and data loading layers, for their daily ETL operations.

they end up over investing on multiple cloud/self-hosted tools and have bigger data teams than ideal with a lot of cost going to data teams, this could be avoided if there is a consistent single way of addressing this.

It is not a gap as there are players like matillion, hevodata, fivetran who are addressing it. but in a closed proprietory fashion, and data compliance is not what they bring in with assurance
