Slate is a cloud bookkeeping system for freelancers and small businesses in Israel. Tax invoices, receipts, income and expense tracking, VAT returns and income tax advances, in one place. Users are freelancers, consultants, independent professionals, and small offices working with an outside accountant.

We built it because the accounting side of a small business eats hours nobody pays for. A freelancer finishing a job wants to issue an invoice and get back to work, not learn what an allocation number is and when it applies. Tax Authority requirements are built into the system: sequential numbering, digital signature, uniform export format, and allocation numbers.

Compliance rules live in server code. Document numbers lock atomically on issue, so a failed issue never burns a number. Each issued document gets a SHA-256 digest over a canonical payload, signed Ed25519 with a key that stays on the server, and anyone holding it can verify it on a public page. Issued documents are immutable.
