About this Opportunity
While Uber strives to design flawless products, the physical realities of our environment, such as traffic patterns, delays in food preparation, and credit card fraud, introduce unforeseen issues. From the moment you access the Help Center in the app to when a customer service agent solves your problem and everything in between, our team provides a magical support experience.
As a Product Designer working on Customer Obsession, you will be responsible for helping in leading a charter, driving alignment across stakeholders and lead execution of exceptional customer support experience to our end-users: Riders, Eaters, Drivers, Couriers, Restaurants, Freight carriers, Truckers, Uber business partners, and Uber's customer service agents, and the list goes on. Your work may touch help center and history, chat and chatbot interfaces, CRM tool development, agent management, help content information architecture, virtual video support channels, creating design systems and more.
What the Candidate Will Do
Scope: Work on projects of all sizes, from problems that are well-known to those more complex and conceptual, while leading a design roadmap in your area.
Process: Build a deep understanding of the historically and systemically excluded customers you are designing for through data and research. Lead the end-to-end design process, solicit and incorporate feedback from experts, translate your designs to build with engineers, and work flexibly with a variety of teams. Design at all levels of fidelity and practice good judgment on making tradeoffs.
Craft: Deliver innovative, elegant designs, buildable and scalable, and thoroughly documented. Have a strong understanding of business, data, and engineering requirements, and create experiences that deliver customer value.
Efficiency: Prioritize and manage your time efficiently, operate autonomously, and quickly adapt to challenges.
Communication and partnership: Communicate with clarity and persuasiveness, and effectively present your work and rationale to stakeholders at all levels. Proactively collaborate with your team, manager, and cross-functional partners. Facilitate design sessions and collaborate with other designers. Maintain honest and trusting relationships with your team.
