Software Engineer (Frontend)

The Role

We are seeking a high-caliber Software Engineer to join our founding engineering team. This is not a "maintenance" role; you will be contributing to a sophisticated polyglot microservices architecture that powers our core marketplace. You will work across the stack to build high-performance services, automate infrastructure, and implement world-class observability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Cross-Platform Development: Architect and maintain a high-performance mobile application using React Native and Expo, ensuring a seamless user experience across both iOS and Android platforms.

• State Management & Logic: Implement robust client-side state management and business logic using JavaScript/TypeScript, facilitating complex user workflows like profile matching and event coordination.

• Backend Integration: Design and integrate secure RESTful APIs with Node.js and Express, managing data flow between the mobile frontend and centralized databases.

• Database & Authentication: Manage persistent user data and real-time interactions using Firebase (Firestore) and implement secure user lifecycle management via Firebase Authentication.

• UI/UX Implementation: Build responsive and intuitive interfaces utilizing React Native Paper or custom styling components, focusing on accessibility and performance for marriage-related service discovery.

• Performance Optimization: Streamline mobile performance by optimizing image loading, asset management, and navigation stacks to ensure high reliability for high-traffic user interactions.

Qualifications

• Proficiencies: Strong foundational knowledge in at least five of the following: 

  • Frontend: React 19, Vite, Tailwind CSS

  • Backend: Express 5, Vercel Serverless Functions

  • Data: MongoDB, Mongoose

  • Auth: Google/Meta OAuth & SSO, Clerk, JWT sessions

  • Payments: Razorpay or similar systems

  • Storage: Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2 (S3-compatible), Blob

  • Quality: Mocha, Supertest, c8, ESLint

  • Mobile: Capacitor iOS wrapper

  • Containers: Docker

• System Design Awareness: Understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker/K8s), and distributed systems.

• Tooling Expertise: Proficient with Git/GitHub (PR workflows), Linux CLI, and basic container debugging (kubectl).

• The "Hustle" Mentality: You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys diving into complex codebases and proposing architectural improvements.

• Educational Background: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
