Polyflo is a lightweight, open-source dictation app for your desktop — hold a hotkey, speak, and your words appear as typed text in any app.
Most dictation tools are built for English-only speech and fall apart the moment you code-switch — which is how most Indians actually talk. Polyflo runs on Sarvam AI's Saaras v3 model, built specifically for Indian languages and Hindi-English (and other Indic) code-mixing, so it doesn't choke when your sentence shifts languages mid-thought.
How it works:
Hold a hotkey → speak → release → text appears wherever your cursor is.
Key features:
🎙️ Transcribe mode (paste exactly as spoken) or Translate mode (speech → English)
🇮🇳 Native support for 22 Indian languages + English, including code-mixed speech
💸 Pay-per-use via your own Sarvam API key — no subscription lock-in
🪶 Built on Tauri v2 (Rust) — ~15 MB binary, runs quietly in your system tray
🔓 Fully open source and self-hostable — audit it, fork it, ship it
Built this because I wanted a tool like Wispr Flow, but one that actually understands how India speaks and one that doesn't use up all my RAM.
Windows and macOS builds available now. Would love feedback from anyone who dictates in Indian languages daily — bugs, feature asks, all welcome.
