From Coffee Corner to Dashboard

You can usually feel it before you see it.
The pulse of a team.
Sometimes it’s in the small things —
how long it takes before someone makes a joke at the coffee corner,
how quickly people reply in a group chat,
how meetings sound when a deadline is close.
Every team has a rhythm.
Some days it flows, other days it drags.
You can sense it, even if no one says a word.
But here’s the question I keep thinking about:
How do you know if the team pulse is healthy,
when you’re no longer standing together at that coffee machine?
In hybrid work, we’ve lost many of those small signals.
We replaced them with status updates, metrics, and dashboards —
but the human rhythm is harder to track.
Maybe we don’t need more data.
Maybe we just need better awareness.
A simple way to notice, together,
when energy shifts.
Because every great team, like every heartbeat,
depends on rhythm — not pressure.
How do you sense the pulse in your team — and what tells you it’s off?
