I also wanted access to the capabilities of Sonnet 3.5, while using Cursor required additional payments for the Claude API. This led me to the conclusion that utilizing an API-based system would be more efficient. With an API, you can top up your balance as needed without expiration, resulting in my monthly expenses being reduced to around $7 to $8. This shift has not only saved me money but has also streamlined my AI usage.
