SEO lessons for indie builders

Take SEO lessons from Dmytro from ScreenshotOne.

Indie builders, you must take marketing lessons from ScreenshotOne. Here's a recent post that Dmytro published on X:

Dmytro has done an impressive job with content marketing and SEO. The website consistently appears in regular and AI search results.

Here are a few things that I liked:

⚔️ 1. Doesn't hesitate from mentioning competitors

For example, this "3 best screenshot APIs in 2025" post also has 2 biggest competitors listed, with ScreenshotOne at the top.

The benefit? You have higher chances of appearing in searches for people who are in the decision phase of choosing such a screenshot API.

Below you can see that even ChatGPT is recommending ScreenshotOne in 1st place, and the first Medium reference you see is from a blog post by Dmytro himself.

📌 If you don't publish these "best of..." posts, someone else will, and then you won't have the control over how they represent your brand.

👨🔬 2. Publishes detailed guides and stories

On the /blog page, there are detailed guides covering several related topics and also customer stories. Some of the blog posts target topics like the below:

  • Is it legal to screenshot websites?

  • How to screenshot websites in Next.js/Python/Ruby/Haskell/C#, etc.

  • Automating screenshots for directory websites

📌 Most of the potential customers would be searching for these topics when in the decision phase. And there are high chances of them becoming a paying customer if the website appears for these terms.

🏆 3. Is present everywhere

While he keeps adding more and more cool features, ScreenshotOne is also present everywhere, on multiple platforms, and offers different integration options.

For example, it's mentioned on n8n, Make, Zapier, Indie Hackers, X, LinkedIn, etc., and has multiple integrations available for different platforms like WordPress, Bubble, has a Chrome extension, and whatnot.

📌 And when your website is getting mentioned everywhere, you have high chances of getting picked up by AI answers, as it's perceived as a popular choice by search engines as well as LLMs.

That's it for this post. Later, I might do a separate, bigger post on how to do SEO for SaaS businesses.
