Unfold is a free Chrome extension that turns any article into a conversation with your favorite AI. It adds a small box to articles, blog posts and docs pages. One click opens ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Grok with a ready-made prompt about the page, so you get the gist first and can ask follow-up questions instead of reading every word.

How it works

1. Open any article. Unfold detects it and shows a “Get an AI summary” box in the corner.

2. Pick your AI. It opens with the page’s title, section, description and link, plus a prompt asking for a concise summary, the key points, what’s easy to miss, and follow-up questions.

3. Or just read. Start scrolling and the box folds into a small TL;DR pill with the reading time.

Under the hood
Built with WXT (Manifest V3), React and TypeScript. Mozilla Readability detects articles and Turndown converts pages to Markdown. The UI lives in a Shadow DOM so it never clashes with a site’s styles, and it re-attaches itself when React sites like Medium rebuild the page.
