Imine allylation reactions have become a widely researched area of chemical synthesis with huge potential in fields such as natural product synthesis and the production of pharmaceutical molecules. There is a demand for effective methods of producing homoallylic amines and amides with high stereoselectivities. In this review I will discuss how through the use of catalysts, carefully selected reagents and the right conditions an imine can be allylated to afford a desired amine or amide with high yields and stereoselectivies.
