Whatsplaid launches AI-powered chatbot for WhatsApp Business

Conversational automation platform Whatsplaid has announced the launch of Whatsplaid GPT, an AI-powered chatbot that integrates automation features into WhatsApp Business, transforming it into an automated channel for customer support and sales qualification. The project is part of an investment plan totaling US$ 8 million (around R$ 42 million) through the end of 2026, focusing on integrating the tool with e-commerce, ERP, and CRM systems.

The technology leverages generative AI to produce natural language responses aligned with each brand’s tone of voice. In addition to answering order-related questions, the chatbot suggests products, interprets links and images, and responds in the customer’s preferred language. The tool is connected to the official WhatsApp Business API and is initially available to users of partner platforms.

During the testing phase with retailers in Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina, the chatbot recorded around 900,000 automated interactions. According to internal data, there was an average increase of 32% in response rates and an 18% boost in WhatsApp Business sales conversions.

Whatsplaid GPT represents a new strategic use of WhatsApp Business, offering automated service that preserves each brand’s identity,” says Eduardo Thomas, Product Manager at Whatsplaid.

The company expects to expand integrations to more than 20 systems by 2026, covering solutions from different sectors and markets. The rollout of the tool is being carried out gradually among users of already integrated platforms.

According to Backlinko, WhatsApp Business has surpassed 3 billion monthly active users worldwide, remaining one of the most widely used messaging apps globally. In Brazil, a 2024 Opinion Box survey shows that 82% of consumers already use the app as a communication channel with companies — highlighting its relevance in digital business strategies.

The company also projects the development of new features through 2026, enhancing the chatbot’s capabilities for multichannel sales and predictive analysis of consumer behavior. “The buying journey is becoming increasingly fragmented. Our goal is to make WhatsApp Business a central and intelligent hub for brand-consumer relationships,” concludes the Product Director.
