The Modding Community (TMC) is a platform designed to be a welcoming and inclusive home for modding and game development. It aims to consolidate various aspects of the modding ecosystem into a single, unified space. Users can browse and share game assets, mods, and servers, build communities, and curate collections. The platform is built for everyone, from single-player mod creators to multiplayer server maintainers and aspiring game developers, offering the same tools and insights without gatekeeping. We're also creating our own open source game dev assets, tools, and mods for the public and have plans to create our own gaming platform that integrates with all aspects of the project.
Assets: A space to upload, version, and showcase game assets and tools like models, scripts, textures, plugins, and libraries. Features include versioned releases, media galleries, ratings, reviews, dependency declarations, and an open-source badge for linked repositories.
Mods: A full-featured mod workshop allowing creators to upload, manage, and automate mod releases. It supports secure uploads and downloads, versioned releases with changelogs, screenshots, videos, licenses, install guides, and dependency linking. An open-source mod manager is planned for the official app.
Servers: A live server browser that tracks over 100,000 servers across more than 40 games, including Minecraft, Rust, and Garry's Mod. It offers a purpose-built interface with extensive filtering options, up-to-date information on player counts and maps, historical data, player tracking, and broad game support through various query protocols.
Communities: Multi-game hubs that bring together mods, servers, assets, and articles under a single community umbrella, featuring a live dashboard for tracking reach, contributors, and engagement.
Collections: A feature allowing users to curate shareable and favoritable lists of assets, mods, servers, articles, or any external web link, with options for annotation and searching.
Insights: Comprehensive analytics for assets, mods, servers, and communities, including views, downloads, engagement over time, live and historical player graphs, and breakdowns of user libraries.
Developer API: A content API that allows automation of platform interactions, including creating, updating, and deleting content, uploading files, and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
Blog: A resource for modding and server guides across various games.
The Modding Community is actively under development, with ongoing updates and plans for future features like a mod workshop and more.
