Agent Session Browser is a local-first web UI, TUI, and CLI for browsing, reading, filtering, exporting, and resuming coding-agent sessions.
I built it after ending up with dozens of sessions across the same projects. Titles and first prompts often looked nearly identical, so figuring out which session to resume meant digging into the actual transcript — which was buried inside JSON/JSONL alongside reasoning, tool calls, progress messages, hooks, errors, and provider-specific events.
Agent Session Browser turns those existing local histories into something easier to work with.
Browse sessions across agents — Codex CLI, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Pi, and Antigravity in one place.
Find the right session — narrow by provider, project/working directory, date, archive state, first prompt, or session ID.
Read clean transcripts — start with just user messages and final answers, then reveal reasoning, progress, plans, tool calls/output, file changes, hooks, lifecycle events, errors, and other provider records when needed.
Inspect the original data — open the raw source record for any transcript item instead of losing provider-specific information during normalization.
Resume without guessing — the TUI shows the session list and actual transcript side by side, so you can identify the right session before resuming it with the provider’s native CLI.
Export sessions — save readable Markdown or self-contained offline HTML.
Use it from the web or terminal — detailed browsing in the local web interface, keyboard-first navigation in the TUI, and non-interactive CLI commands for scripting.
Your existing agent history remains the source of truth. Agent Session Browser does not modify those files, upload your transcripts, call an AI API, or require a cloud account or provider login just to read history.
A lightweight local SQLite catalog stores paths and small session summaries; transcript content is read from the original files when you open it.
Run the TUI directly:
npx agent-session-browser
Or start the local web interface:
npx agent-session-browser web
