visualOS is an infinite canvas for people who think visually: designers, photographers, artists and anyone who plans projects with pictures. Drop in images, build colour palettes, write notes and Markdown documents, sketch with Apple Pencil, and nest boards inside boards as deep as you like.
What makes it different: your work lives as real files. Connect a folder and every board becomes a folder on your disk, every document a Markdown file, every image an ordinary image file. There is no server and no account, so visualOS works fully offline and syncs through your own iCloud Drive or Dropbox.
• Free in the browser at visualos.app, with no limits and no sign-up
• Native app for iPhone, iPad and Mac as a one-time purchase, no subscription
• New in 1.5: pen tray, precise eraser, hold-to-shape and handwriting search for Apple Pencil
• Automatic version history, search across all boards, 2× PNG export
• Available in 10 languages
It also works as a free Milanote alternative: no 100-note limit, no subscription.
Under the hood: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript without a framework, drawn on Canvas 2D, and it stays fast with thousands of elements on screen.
