Buddy is a free, open-source Android app that puts an AI agent in a floating chat bubble and lets it use your phone. Type or say what you want, like "reply to Sam that I'm running late" or "turn on the living room lights": it reads the screen, taps and types in your apps to get it done.
The agent runs on the phone itself, in a small Alpine Linux inside the app. No root, no PC, no API keys: Claude Code with your Claude plan, Codex with your ChatGPT plan, Antigravity with your Google account, Grok, or OpenCode's free models.
Buddy asks before anything is sent, posted, bought or deleted, and hands passwords and payment details to you. It can also act on notifications with rules you write, run scheduled tasks, talk with live voice, and build Android apps on the phone. New in 2.2.18: share anything to Buddy from any app, and see how much of your Claude or ChatGPT plan is left.
