I'm Irfan, a developer based out of Toronto, Canada, and I've been building ContextGrade over the past few months. I wanted to share what I'm working on, get some honest feedback from this community, and invite anyone interested to try it.

The problem I kept running into was that every organization that I've been part of has the same issue i.e a decision gets made or a discount approved or a ticket closed a certain way or a design direction chosen and six months later nobody can remember why. The outcome is in the CRM or the ticket tracker. The reasoning is in a Slack thread nobody can find, or in someone's head who has since left the company.

When I started using LLMs internally for business questions, this gap became even more painful. The AI could tell us everything about the world and nothing about how our own organization thinks and decides. We were feeding it generic context and getting generic answers back.

I couldn't find a tool that solved this. So I built one.

What ContextGrade does
ContextGrade is a browser extension that lives where work already happens. When you take a meaningful action such as close a ticket, resolve a design comment, approve a deal term, finalize a code review, it surfaces a lightweight prompt: "Save the reasoning behind this decision?"

You write a quick note. Why you made the call. What tradeoff you accepted. What context mattered. ContextGrade saves it as a structured decision record, attached to the URL, the entity, the timestamp, and your identity and sends it to your organization's ContextGrade account.

Over time your team builds a searchable history of decisions with reasoning attached. Not just what happened but als "why".

The dashboard lets you browse your team's full decision history, filter by decision type and context category, and generate AI reports, structured markdown documents that compile your team's decision reasoning by category, ready to feed directly into any LLM as organizational context.

That last part is the bit I'm most excited about. Your accumulated decision history becomes proprietary context that makes your AI genuinely useful for organizational questions, not just generic ones.

What it's not
I want to be clear about this because I think it matters. ContextGrade is not activity tracking software. It doesn't record clicks, keystrokes, navigation, or general browsing. It only captures what you explicitly choose to save. Every capture is opt-in. The goal is preserving organizational reasoning, not monitoring people.

Where it's at today
The Chrome extension is live on the Web Store. The backend API, staff dashboard, and AI reports feature are all built and running. Stripe billing is in with a free tier for up to 3 users so you can try it without a credit card.

It's early. There are rough edges. But the core loop works, capture a decision, see it in the dashboard, generate a report, feed it to your LLM.

Where it's going
The immediate next step is auto-detection, instead of the user manually opening the extension, ContextGrade proactively detects meaningful decision moments and surfaces the prompt automatically. Think of it like Grammarly but for decisions, it knows when something important is happening and asks if you want to capture it.

After that, direct integrations with major platforms, a Slack capture surface, and eventually a decision search and retrieval API that teams can plug directly into their RAG pipelines.

The long-term vision is bigger than the extension, I think there's a genuine opportunity to build the decision operating system for knowledge work. The browser extension is the fastest path to validating that thesis with real organizational data.

What I'd love from this community
The LLM context angle is this the right primary positioning or does it feel like I'm chasing a trend? The core product stands on its own as an organizational memory tool even without the AI angle.

Distribution - PLG through the Chrome extension feels right for bottom-up adoption, but I'm curious whether anyone here has experience with Chrome extension-led B2B distribution and what actually worked.
