Overview
A compact electronic board designed as the base hardware platform for the E32 radio module used in electrical metering equipment. The board integrates the radio module with the necessary power conversion, control, and interface circuitry in a mechanically constrained form factor.
My Contributions
I designed the hardware and implemented the printed circuit board (PCB), including schematic design, component selection, placement, routing, Altium library integration, 3D verification, prototyping, manufacturing documentation, and prepared fabrication files.
Engineering Highlights
The project required the integration of grid-related power conversion and low-voltage control/radio electronics while fitting within the existing meter platform geometry. Particular attention was paid to the placement of large power components, mechanical clearances, connector accessibility, and the interconnection between the E32 module, control electronics, and the final enclosure. Result
The board was developed as a production-ready module and became the basis for subsequent communications equipment, including the E32 + RS-485 variant. A 500-unit run of the board was installed on a pilot facility, after which it was released for serial production.
