Overview
A specialized device designed to collect, process, and transmit data from smart electricity meters to the upper system level – a data acquisition and transmission device (DAT).
My Contribution
I developed the hardware and printed circuit board (PCB) implementation for the entire coordinator family, including schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, mechanical integration, library management, prototyping, production documentation, and production files. The coordinator has been developed in versions with different housings and microcontrollers: the D3MG/V32, D1MG/V32, and D1MG/V8510.
Key Features
The coordinator integrates a 220V power converter, an E32 radio module, RS-485, a microcontroller, fast and non-volatile memory, a watchdog timer, and auxiliary interfaces. The most compact version uses a dual-board architecture with boards mounted at a 90-degree angle, separating the power/RS-485 section from the main control and radio electronics. The design required close mechanical coordination with the enclosure, high component density, and meticulous routing within a limited space.
Results
Several generations of hardware were designed, prototyped, and prepared for serial production. The project has entered serial production.
