ShareBox

Inspiration

Our project ShareBox is inspired from the need of a content creator to struggle to publish his/her content on platforms who don't care about small content creators and also takes a considerable amount of commission.

What it does

ShareBox is a C2C platform where one can buy and sell content and reads and digital goods. Pay per view model is a revenue model which will be used in this project of E-content sharing. As we want to generate revenue for publisher and also for software ,this model will only give access of E-content published by user to a buyer who is paying for that content. It is same as renting a specific movie on online streaming platform but here cost of digital content on platform will be decided by the publisher and it is upto him/her to decide whether his/her content should be free or not.

How we built it

Our team consists of a backend developer and two front-end developers, so it was a balance in terms of development power. We started by identifying the features that were much needed by the public. Thereafter, we came with a plan to build a decent prototype of our model in the given time period. The planning we did very much helped to build the project.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges our whole team faced is to work continuously for such long hours but it was fun too. Well there problems on very phase from designing to development to deployment. Most of the errors and mistakes we made in the integration of backend and the frontend. The authentication part with the help of json web token was a bit tricky and also the payment integration we did with the help of stripe api was new to us and created challenges for us to conquer.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The main accomplishment was successful integration of payment gateway. We implemented token authentication which helps against CSRF forgery. User will be kept logged in with the help of rotating refresh token.

What we learned

Time management and teamwork. Two most important things we learned. Apart from the improvement we saw in the technical and skills area as individuals, we as a team also learned how to trust each other. When it was midnight and we all wanted to go sleep but everyone of us worked without sleeping, this taught us that if we as a team decide to build something than we can!!

What's next for ShareBox

We are thinking to provide more features for sellers and as well as buyers. Not only for books or small reads but ShareBox will also be a selling platoform for all forms of digital goods.
