RewindOS gives your Linux desktop a private, searchable memory.

It runs quietly in the background, capturing your screen, extracting visible text, and indexing everything locally. When you need to find a page, command, document, or conversation you saw earlier, you can retrieve it in milliseconds.

RewindOS is built specifically for Linux and Wayland using Rust, Tauri, PipeWire, Tesseract, and SQLite FTS5. Perceptual hashing removes near-duplicate frames, keeping storage and search results manageable.

Everything stays on your computer. There’s no cloud processing, account, subscription, or telemetry. Optional AI features can run locally through Ollama.
