Inspiration
Ayurveda, a traditional Indian natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. According to Ayurveda, Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the human body's three fundamental energies or principles. These three principles are thought to govern all physiological and psychological processes in the body, and they are said to determine a person's individual body and overall health. In Ayurveda, maintaining balance and harmony between these three energies is considered essential for good health and well-being. An imbalance in any one of these can lead to various health problems, and Ayurvedic treatment aims to restore balance and harmony between them. We feel Ayurveda has excellent potential to solve health across the globe and provide a healthy lifestyle to everyone. So, we decided to build an application around it to empower the true potential of Ayurveda via these three principles.
What it does
What the app does is, takes several inputs from the user such as weight, height, age, gender, diet type, addictions, daily routine, blood pressure, and date of birth. Based on these inputs we will recommend the user suggestions which are verified by the doctors. Our well-qualified Ayurvedic doctors (or Vaidyas) will give their opinion based on the information provided by the user. Sometimes you may be requested to furnish additional information regarding your health. However, there will be a 30-day free trial for the users.
How we built it
The front end of the app is developed using React.js and Tailwind CSS. We have used the Appwrite for the backend. Appwrite is handling our users and database.
Challenges we ran into
We got difficulties with Storyblok, it had some bugs which most people get in the setup. In the end, we changed our tech stack from Vue.js to React.js. Here we learned that we need to shift the technologies when some things are not going in our way. We also configured a error while working with react local states and storage of Appwrite database, thanks to mentors for helping us and it was a great learning experience!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The one achievement that we are proud of is taking user details through the input form which is the main priority of the app. We are proud that we build an amazing application from scratch including the design and the coding part of the project.
What we learned
We were using Appwrite for a big project first time, it was great learning and exploring appwrite and the features it provides.
What's next for Ayurveda
In the future, we are thinking to provide a notification module through which all the users can get updates related to the site. Further we also are also planning to impalement an AI model after we get a sufficient amount of data so the AI can process the data and give as much as healthy solutions as possible.
