Although the concept of automating the grading of multiple-choice exams has been in existence for several decades, widespread adoption remains hindered by cost and complex setup procedures. This paper introduces VisioMark, a pioneering system tailored for the automated grading of multiple-choice exams. In contrast to prevalent solutions reliant on expensive scanning technology, VisioMark offers an economical alternative, leveraging readily available off-the-shelf webcams. Notably, VisioMark goes beyond mere mark recognition by incorporating Artificial Intelligence for scripts with pencil shading, eliminating the necessity for bubble sheets. A comparative analysis with similar webcam-based systems underscores VisioMark’s distinctiveness, particularly in user interface design, which optimizes data collection for efficiency and precision.
