BeforeUp - Docker Compose preflight checks for Linux
A Docker Compose configuration can be valid even when the host isn't ready to run it. A published port might already be occupied, a required bind-mount directory might be missing, or a configuration change might affect an existing deployment.
I built BeforeUp to catch these problems before starting or replacing containers.
What it does:
Checks Docker Compose configuration and selected host conditions.
Detects occupied ports, missing bind sources and low disk space.
Compares proposed changes against running containers, including ports, mounts, declared environment settings and image references.
Provides readable terminal output and JSON reports.
Keeps all checks read-only, without starting, stopping or modifying containers.
BeforeUp uses Docker Compose itself to resolve configurations. It distinguishes warnings from confirmed blockers and avoids exposing environment values or sensitive host paths in its reports.
Built with Go. Available for Linux AMD64 and ARM64, with Debian packages and standalone binaries.
Free, open source and MIT licensed.

I'm looking for feedback from developers running Docker Compose on real Linux hosts, especially false positives and cases the tool doesn't yet handle.
